Holiday Chex Mix aka Candy Crack

Holiday Christmas Chex Mix aka Candy Crack

The winter holiday season is one of my favorite times of the year.  I love everything about this season. I get excited when the sun sets earlier, the weather gets colder and the holiday lights glow in my neighborhood.  My favorite tradition is making sweet treats for all the people I am grateful for in my life.

When I started selling Parchies Kitchen Clips in November 2023, I never imagined how creative my customers and friends would get! They’ve been sending me photos and raving about all the unique ways they use their Parchies. My friend Debbie totally won me over when she shared her tip for making Chex Christmas Mix—aka Candy Crack.

Debbie was hooked! She told me, “I hate when the chocolate hardens in the bowl—it’s the worst mess to clean. Parchies saved me the hassle!!!!” (And yes, she really used four exclamation points—so you know it’s legit!) She lined her glass bowl with parchment paper, secured it with Parchies, and voilà—easy cleanup, no stress.

Her enthusiasm inspired me to try making Candy Crack myself.  I am definitely adding this recipe to my holiday sweet treats greatest hits.

The ingredients are simple: Wheat Chex, Corn Chex, Rice Chex, Cheerios, Pretzels, M&M's, White Chocolate and mini Oreos (Debbie's addition).  This year General Mills is giving away a Peanuts themed tin if you buy 4 boxes of Chex- I am in!!

Line a bowl with Parchment Paper and clip down the sides.

Add the white chocolate and throughly coat all the pieces with the melted chocolate.

Chex Christmas Mix aka Candy Crack- WhatsGabyCooking.com

Ingredients:

3 cups Cheerios

3 cups Rice Chex

3 Cups Wheat Chex

2 Cups Corn Chex

1 Cup Pretzel Sticks

2-3 Cups M&M's

24 oz. White Chocolate plus an extra 4-8 oz if needed

1 bag of Mini Oreos

Instructions:

Line a large bowl with parchment paper, clip down with Parchies Kitchen Clips.  Combine the Cheerios, Chex, Pretzels, M&M's, mini Oreos in the bowl making sure that everything is evenly combined.

Meanwhile, over a double broiler, melt the white chocolate according to the directions on the package.

Once the chocolate has melted and is a smooth consistency, drizzle the chocolate over the cereal mix and combine with a silicone spatula or wooden spoon.  Make sure all the cereal is covered in chocolate.

Once the entire batch is covered in chocolate, lay it out in an even layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper with a 1/4" overhang.  Clip down parchment paper with Parchies Kitchen Clips Let dry for 1 hour so the chocolate is cooled and hard.  Break up into medium pieces and store in an airtight container in the fridge or freezer.

Remove clips from bowl and pan, crumple up the parchment paper - throw it in the trash, put your CLEAN bowl and pan away.  Sit back and have a nice cup of whatever liquid you love the best, you know it is the holidays!!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

xoxo,

Aunt Judy and The Parchies Team
